Super Bowl season tends to bring out the rivalries in many close relationships. Family members will often “beef” with each other over their football loyalties once February comes around. The same can be said for the Phoenix Suns, who have two players on opposing sides for the coveted Lombardi Trophy.
Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson, two key players of the Suns, joked about how their friendship would change in two weeks. This is because Johnson's Cincinnati Bengals and Bridges' Los Angeles Rams will be going up against each other in the Super Bowl. (via Duane Rankins)
"We're not going to like each other."
"But right now, it's civil."

Bridges even wore his Rams jersey after the Suns' 115 – 110 thriller against the San Antonio Spurs! Bridges has been a Rams fan for a long time, even attending their last Super Bowl appearance in 2019. As for Johnson, he's been a diehard Bengals fan since childhood, despite growing up in Pittsburgh.
The Suns themselves are looking to make it back to the NBA's “Super Bowl”, per se. After coming up short in last year's NBA Finals, Phoenix stormed back with a vengeance this season. They have taken control of the Western Conference, and are looking poised to make it back to the Finals and redeem themselves from last season's debacle.
Unfortunately for Bridges, he might be outnumbered in the Suns locker room. Chris Paul has tweeted out support for the Bengals recently, and even got himself a Ja'Marr Chase jersey from the wide receiver himself. We'll see whether other players stand with Bridges on his fight or if he'll have to root for his Rams alone in the locker room.
