The Phoenix Suns are in the process of buying out veteran center Tyson Chandler, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
Chandler is only playing roughly 12 minutes a night with the Suns. Phoenix drafted Deandre Ayton with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Arizona and acquired big man Richaun Holmes from the Philadelphia 76ers during the offseason.

In seven games this season, Tyson Chandler is averaging 3.7 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. The 36-year-old Chandler is earning $13.6 million this season.
Chandler averaged 6.5 points and 9.1 rebounds last year in 46 regular season games, shooting 64.7 percent from the field. The 7-footer, who was part of the Dallas Mavericks team which won the Finals in 2011 over the Miami Heat, has career averages of 8.6 points and 9.3 rebounds in 1086 NBA games.
Tyson Chandler is still a good shot blocker and can be a valuable locker room leader. The former No. 2 overall pick has seen it all in the NBA.
Along with being an NBA champion, Chandler has made the All-Star team once, was on the 2012 All-NBA team and won the 2012 Defensive Player of the Year award. The Lakers are expected to sign him, as still developing reports (at the time of this writing) are stating.
