The Phoenix Suns' constant interest in a starting point guard could open up an avenue for the Minnesota Timberwolves to pursue a trade with the Miami Heat that involves Goran Dragic, in efforts to trade estranged star Jimmy Butler, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Suns have inquired about acquiring backup point guard Tyus Jones in the past as well, who could make a good potential trade chip if the Wolves are unwilling to trade starter Jeff Teague at the moment.
Phoenix will likely be happy with either player, as they rid themselves of Tyler Ulis earlier this summer after letting Elfrid Payton walk in free agency, while capping it off by trading Brandon Knight to the Houston Rockets, leaving them with unproven talent at the point guard position.
The Suns reportedly want a player that can act in a support role to phenom Devin Booker, who is fresh off signing a five-year, $158 million extension with the team this summer.

The Sacramento Kings have also offered their services as a potential partner in a three-way deal, hoping to snag a draft pick and some cash considerations in exchange for using up their cap space on a bloated contract like Gorgui Dieng's.
Goran Dragic is potentially one of the Heat's most-valued players, but due to his age, he is the most tradable asset they have at hand, if they hope to make a deal for Jimmy Butler. Names like Josh Richardson, Kelly Olynyk and Bam Adebayo are sure to come up in trade conversations, but it's unlikely that Miami's brass would be willing to part ways with them.
Only time will tell what happens for ever party involved, or even if the Heat are willing to part with a player like Gragic if it means landing Butler. Of course, the Wolves also need to agree to all of this.
Basically, there's a lot of things that need to fall in place for this to happen.
