Remember when Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green said last year that Devin Booker needed to leave the Phoenix Suns in order to truly flourish? Suns fans remember, because they're apparently bombarding Green with reminders after Phoenix eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.
Green took to Twitter claiming Suns fans should thank him for calling out the team and spurring them to get some help for Booker:
Shoutout to all the Suns fans sending me what I said about Book. 😂😂😂 y’all ungrateful asses should be THANKING me. That day, they finally decided to get him some HELP. Love to see it!!
I’m gonna start a Gofund me so y’all can show gratitude and pay my 50k back! ☺️😊😊— Draymond Green (@Money23Green) June 4, 2021
Then I’m going to donate it to charity 😊😊😊

That $50,000 Green is talking about? The Warriors star was fined $50,000 for his comments because of tampering rules.
Article Continues BelowGreen's initial comments were made during bubble play before the Suns were eliminated from playoff contention. Phoenix ultimately went 8-0 in the bubble but missed out on the playoffs.
The Suns rode the bubble momentum into the offseason by acquiring Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they blossomed this season into one of the best teams in the Western Conference. Phoenix earned the No. 2 seed in the West and the right to face the Los Angeles Lakers after the Lakers beat Green's Warriors in the play-in tournament.
Booker's first foray on the playoff stage has been nothing short of spectacular. The Suns star poured in 47 points in Game 6 to dispatch the Lakers, averaging nearly 30 points on excellent efficiency throughout the series. With Chris Paul nursing a shoulder injury, Booker really stepped up as that lead dog.
If Paul's shoulder gets better and Phoenix can stay healthy, this team has a great chance to get to the NBA Finals and win it all. Needless to say, that would be a pretty good thing for Devin Booker's career, and Draymond Green wants some credit for it. Who knows if Suns fans are going to give him any, but they should be happy either way. Booker is now a legit superstar and in a great spot.
