LeBron James admits the Los Angeles Lakers committed a defensive lapse after allowing Damian Lillard's game-changing logo-shot in the opener of their first-round playoffs series.

However, LeBron is not taking anything away from Dame, noting that the Blazers star is a true big-stage player after banking the shot.

To recall, with just over three minutes left and the game tied at 89, Lillard casually rose up from the logo and knocked a critical 3-pointer to put the Blazers ahead of the Lakers for good.

Below is the aforementioned play. While Davis had his eyes locked on Dame, he wasn't close enough, perhaps for fear that Dame Time could easily drive past him. But then again, Lillard only needs a glimpse of the rim to rise up with confidence.

The Lakers kept the game close despite Damian Lillard's big-time triple. However, the logo-deep shot clearly gave the Blazers the momentum to close out the game.

It was also clear on the face of LeBron James and Co. that their energy was suck after the triple.

Aafter the shot, Carmelo Anthony joined in the party by knocking down a crucial 3-pointer of his own around the 2:30 mark, giving the Blazers a comfortable six-point cushion.

The Lakers were able to trim it down to a two-point deficit with a minute or so left, but Gary Trent Jr. knocked another 3-pointer to push the lead back to five points. This proved to be the dagger, as the Purple and Gold failed to execute on the offensive end.

Game 2 between the Lakers and Blazers will be on Thursday.
