The Golden State Warriors have a promising rookie in their lineup this year in Jordan Bell, who has been providing them with a lot of energy off the bench. His high-flying ways and strong attacks to the basket have made him a crowd favorite in Oakland, but for Kevin Durant, he gave credit to another rookie outside of him, when asked who among this season’s crop has caught his attention.

The reigning Finals MVP admitted that he thinks Toronto Raptors small forward OG Anunoby will be a good player in the future. He also cited how hard he plays as his strong suit, as well as his shooting and rebounding.

“Rookies that caught my attention? I like OG Anunoby from Toronto. He plays hard, he can shoot it, he rebounds well,” Durant said. “He’s gonna be really good in the future.”

Through 16 games, the 20-year-old Nigerian international is a fixture in the rotation of head coach Dwane Casey, and has rewarded the team with his averages of 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.4 minutes per game. He also brings a lot of hustle, and competes hard night in and night out for the Raptors.

Durant’s comments speaks highly of Anunoby and how he can be successful in his NBA career. If he continues to play the way he does, not only will he make the former MVP sound like a genius, but he can also set himself up for a long and bright future in the league.
