Is Sacramento Kings big man Tristan Thompson retiring after the 2021-22 NBA season? If rumors proved to be true, then that might really be the case.
Thompson is being sued by a pregnant woman claiming he is the father of her unborn child. As reported earlier, Thompson and the woman named Maralee Nichols allegedly conceived the baby in Houston–Nichols' hometown. Now, the said woman is seeking for child support from the Kings player.
In a rather shocking twist, however, TMZ claimed to have obtained legal documents showing the messages from Thompson and how he plans to settle the case. According to the documents, Thompson has offered $75,000 to Nichols for her to stay silent about the baby.
The one-time NBA champion, who was traded to the Kings in the offseason, also allegedly encouraged Nichols to take the money since she would not be making money by having his baby. Thompson shared he is “retiring after the season” and that the support he would provide would be the amount required for someone unemployed.

Here's the alleged message from Thompson, via TMZ:
You know how I feel
My feelings haven't changed at all
Wont be involved at all
Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It's completely wrong. You are aware that I'm retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who's unemployed. It's texas so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So you better off taking this 75k I'm offering cause you won't get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who's unemployed All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month.
It remains to be seen what will happen to Tristan Thompson and the lawsuit with his alleged baby mama, but it has certainly taken an interesting turn with his retirement revelation.
