The Kings are 15-29 on the season. They are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings.
Buddy Hield signed a lucrative four-year, $86 million extension with the Kings before the season started, after previously speaking out about being at odds during contract negotiations. He’s averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists on the season and shooting 41.6 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.
Dysfunction and the Kings seemingly go together. They have been a walking disaster for years, and they haven’t made the playoffs since 2006. Last season was a promising step back towards respectability, but they have a long way to go before becoming true contenders again.
Hield’s tension with Kings head coach Luke Walton isn’t a new development. He didn’t have the best relationship with his previous coach, Dave Joerger, either. Sacramento is hoping Hield and Walton can get on the same page soon so they can continue a push towards the playoffs.
Bogdan Bogdanovic is averaging 14.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists this season for the Kings. He's been in trade rumors lately. The swingman is shooting 42.6 percent overall, 37.6 percent from the 3-point line and 65.6 percent from the charity stripe.
