One New Orleans Pelicans fan made a lot of news recently when he took the court inside Smoothie King Center and pretended to be one of the players. He wore the same warmer hoodie the Pelicans players were wearing and started by stretching himself before asking for the ball and attempting a shot. A policeman saw what he was doing and quickly approached him to head back to his seat.
A day after seeing the viral clip, the Sacramento Kings took advantage of the opportunity to post a hilarious tweet about it. They jokingly said they have signed the fan to a “warm-up contract” for their game on Tuesday versus the Pelicans.

The Kings have not had a lot of success this season and only have a 16-34 record to show, good for 15th place in the Western Conference. That said, it made their tweet even funnier as it’s no secret that they need all the help they can get at this point to finish the year with a more respectable win-loss slate.
The good news for them though is that they came out with the win on the night, and handed the Pelicans with their second straight loss. The Pelicans are now 0-2 since losing DeMarcus Cousins for the remainder of the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles during their match against the Houston Rockets on Friday. They must find a way to win without him if they want to make it to the playoffs, and it is important for all their players to step-up their individual games.
