The Sacramento Kings experienced the worst possible timing for a wedgie in their heartbreaking 117-116 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
The Kings, which were down by one point with five ticks remaining, had one final shot to upstage the defending champions on their home floor. However, they came out empty handed on the possession, as the wedgie forced a jumpball situation at mid-court with two seconds left. Kevin Durant won the tap and swatted the ball away from Sacramento's basket, and that was the game.

Kings fans have to be dismayed with the unfortunate timing of the wedgie as this failed to give Sacramento the upset victory over the short-handed Warriors, who were still without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
Warriors sharp-shooter Klay Thompson gave Golden State the lead on the previous play, following up his missed lay-up with a putback, which proved to be the game-winner on the night. This, along with the ensuing defensive stop, snapped the Warriors' four-game losing skid, their longest in the Steve Kerr era.
Buddy Hield led the Kings with 28 points, seven rebounds, and four 3-pointers. Rookie Marvin Bagley III also had a solid outing in 33 minutes off the bench, notching 20 points and 17 rebounds. However, these were not enough to hold off the monster games from Kevin Durant, who finished with 44 points, and Klay Thompson, who dropped 31 points himself.
The Starters are going to love that wedgie, though. They were, in fact, the ones who coined the term “Wedgie” for when the ball gets pinned in between the rim and the backboard.
