The Sacramento Kings will reportedly open discussions on a contract extension with general manager Vlade Divac, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
Divac became general manager of the Kings in 2015. His current contract runs through the 2019-20 season.

The Kings had their best season in 2018-19 in a long time. They won the most games by a Sacramento team since 2006. That was the last year the Kings went to the playoffs.
Some of the biggest moves Divac has made as general manager are the DeMarcus Cousins trade, drafting De'Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III and acquiring Harrison Barnes from the Dallas Mavericks at this year's trade deadline. The Kings may be missing the playoffs this season, but Divac has the franchise trending in the right direction.
Sacramento currently has the longest playoff drought in the NBA. Next season, the Kings will surely try and end that streak. They came close to doing it this season. A full year of having Barnes on the team should be enough to push the team over the top.
For years, Sacramento has been riddled with dysfunction, but that wasn't the case this season. Divac and his staff have done a good job of creating a new culture.
