Yet another victim of DeMarcus Cousins’ immature reactions to the media, Cowbell Kingdom managing editor Leo Beas, shed some light on his relationship with the mercurial center and how it all got started.
According to a post by Beas, Cousins’s “beef” with him and the site started on Nov. 16, when he was displeased with a story one of his writers had written days before.
The Sacramento Kings big man approached Beas and photo editor Emmanuel Basulto in efforts to intimidate them — even attacking Beas on a personal level — at which point they exited the locker room instead of escalating the situation.

Cousins also initiated another altercation with the journalist prior to a game against the Houston Rockets, which is showcased in the video provided by the Sacramento Bee. The Kings star approached Beas 15 minutes before the game tipped off and cursed at him as he was taking b-roll footage of the team running out of the tunnel during warm-ups.
This isn’t remotely the first of his problems with the media, and even if he’s been received a “substantial fine” for his verbal altercation with the Bee’s columnist Andy Furillo, he’s yet to address this and other similar incidents with people of the same ilk.
Actions like these are ones that make Cousins a nightmare that only a desperate GM would gamble on. The mere headache that is having a player of his caliber being a PR suicide is a direct reflection of what the Kings have gone through since they drafted him and until he can make right with the local media, DeMarcus Cousins could find himself out of worthy offers come free agency.
