Lindsey Harding has bid farewell to the Philadelphia 76ers as she moves on to the Sacramento Kings.

Via Twitter, Harding — who spent nine years in the WNBA before embarking on a coaching career — has bid the team farewell to the 76ers where she was a player development coach. Her next stop is the Kings where she'll serve as the team's assistant and player development coach on Luke Walton's staff.

Harding will join Stacey Augmon (assistant coach/player development) and Rico Hines (player development) as the Kings' new hires. Other announced members of the Kings' coaching staff are Igor Kokoskov, Bob Beyer and Jesse Mermuys, as assistant coaches, Roy Rana as assistant coach and chief of staff, Bobby Jackson as assistant coach/player development, Jonah Herscu as advance scout and Will Scott as head video coordinator and player development coach.

In terms of women, she joins Becky Hammon (San Antonio Spurs), Jenny Boucek (Dallas Mavericks), Natalie Nakase (Los Angeles Clippers), Kristi Toliver (Washington Wizards) and Karen Stack Umlauf (Chicago Bulls) as the only women currently serving as assistant coaches in the NBA.

Elton Brand, general manager of the 76ers, tagged Harding as a rising star in the league. Per Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

“Her love of the game shines through in everything she does, and I think that has a positive impact on everyone she comes across,” said Sixers general manager Elton Brand. “She’s a rising star in this industry.”

Indeed, the Kings have acquired a gem in Harding. Hopefully, her addition will help the young squad make waves in the coming years.
