The San Antonio Spurs didn't make many moves this offseason, as they're more focused on building their next core for the future. The front office took another step in that direction on Monday after they came to terms with guard Derrick White on a four-year, $73 million extension before the deadline, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Derrick White will be entering his fourth season in the league at the age of 26. While he finished last season averaging 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season, he did himself a favor with his bubble production for the Spurs.

After the 2019-20 season resumed play in the NBA Disney bubble, White found himself in the starting lineup and didn't disappoint. He averaged 18.9 points per game during that time while recording 4.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in seven games–all of which were step-ups from his pre-hiatus numbers. White was also able to connect on 39.3 percent of his 3-pointers, which definitely caught the attention of many spectators.
Aside from White, the Spurs have a few other younger players such as rookie Devin Vassell and Dejounte Murray that they'll continue to focus on as they build towards the future. As it stands, the San Antonio franchise doesn't pose an immediate threat to most of the contenders in the Western Conference.
Though the Spurs don't hold many championship aspirations coming into the season, anything is possible under head coach Gregg Popovich. They will head into the 2020-21 season with their first game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Dec. 23.
