Toronto Raptors star small forward Kawhi Leonard makes his much-anticipated return to San Antonio on Thursday, and the two-time Defensive Player of the Year has a message for Spurs fans.

Kawhi Leonard spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Spurs. In his time with San Antonio, Leonard became one of the best players in the game, won the 2014 Finals MVP, and made the All-Star team two times.

Up until last season when he played in only nine games, Kawhi Leonard was a fan favorite in San Antonio. Leonard says he appreciated the support the fans showed him for seven years despite how things ended:

In 407 career games with the Spurs, Kawhi Leonard averaged 16.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

There was a time when people thought Leonard would became the next face of the Spurs organization after Tim Duncan retired. What happened last year, though, changed everything. The Claw reportedly didn't like the way Spurs doctors handled his quadriceps injury, and it ultimately led him to request a trade.

Leonard is probably going to get booed all night on Thursday. The fans weren't happy with the way he conducted himself last season. Don't expect any video tributes for Leonard on Thursday.
