Baltimore native Haywood Highsmith is planning to sign a two-way contract with the Sixers at some point on Tuesday, according to a report from Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer:

Highsmith is a 6-foot-7, 220 pound forward who has been serving a stint with the Delaware Blue Coats (Philadelphia's G League affiliate). Through 21 games played with the Blue Coats, he has averaged 13.8 points while shooting 40.2 percent from the 3-point line.
Th Sixers brought Highsmith in for a series of workouts with several NBA veterans, including Sean Kilpatrick, Arron Afflalo and Brandon Rush.
Most experts and analysts feel that Highsmith is deserving of this opportunity. However, his agent, Mason Ashe, would not comment on the potential of a two-way deal with the Sixers.
Teams around the NBA landscape were allowed to start signing players to 10-day contracts on Saturday. By rule, players can sign two separate 10-day deals with the same team. After that, the organization has to decide whether to sign him for the remainder of the season or let him go. Jan. 15 is the cut-off for teams to sign players to two-way deals.
NBA teams are allowed to have two separate two-way contracts. Currently, second-round pick Shake Milton is signed to Philly's other two-way deal.
The Sixers (26-14 and second in the Atlantic Division standings) will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll welcome the Washington Wizards to town. Tip-off inside the Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
