The Phoenix Suns parted ways with Tyler Ulis and apparently, their star player, Devin Booker is not happy about it. According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, Booker is upset with the Suns front office after they let go of his best friend. As Charania notes, Booker is eligible for the five-year maximum rookie extension.

Ulis averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 assists per game during his two seasons with the Phoenix Suns.

Booker and Ulis' friendship goes back further than just Phoenix. The two played their college ball together at Kentucky under John Calipari. Booker left college after his freshman year and was the 13th overall pick. He and Ulis were reunited one year later when the Suns selected Ulis with the fourth pick in the second round.

The Suns will want to keep Booker happy as he's a big part of their future. The 21-year-old continues to grow and looks to be one of the better two guards in the league sooner or later. In 54 games last season, Booker averaged 24.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. The Kentucky product also saw a slight uptick in his shooting percentages from his second to his third year.

The dynamic scorer looks to be one of the Suns' two key pieces along with the 2018 NBA Draft's first overall pick, Deandre Ayton. Phoenix has hopes that these two will develop into All-Star level talents that can pull them from the depths of the Western Conference. But unfortunately for Booker, if he and Ayton can do that, it will be without his close friend Tyler Ulis.
