After star small forward Carmelo Anthony and the Oklahoma City Thunder pulled off probably their most impressive victory of the season last night over the Philadelphia 76ers, they immediately get right back at it today at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.
Anthony, who had 24 points on 11-of-17 shots from the field on Friday night, helped the Thunder come away with a thrilling 119-117 triple-overtime win over the Sixers. Up next, the 10-time NBA All-Star will return to the building where he spent seven seasons of his illustrious career before he was traded to the Thunder this offseason.
Per an article by Marc Berman of the New York Post:
“It’ll be fun, I think it’ll be fun tomorrow night,’’ Anthony said after Friday's victory. “I’m actually looking forward to just being back in there, playing in front of family, friends. Being back in the Garden is always special. I’m looking forward to that.’’
There's a lot that Anthony still misses about New York and added that going back to Madison Square Garden on Saturday will be an emotional experience for him.

“Walking in there, it will be a little emotional,’’ Anthony said. “From the standpoint, that’s home. Being back there and running out of the other side of the tunnel, seeing people who I became close to, seeing my family who I can’t see much now because I’m in Oklahoma City, seeing my wife. Having them there is very important.”
When asked about what type of reception he will likely get from the New York crowd, Anthony said that he anticipates the atmosphere will be a positive one.
“I think it will be an appreciation,’’ Anthony said. “It’s not like I was there a season or two seasons. I spent a lot of time there — almost seven years. It was great times, bad times. Regardless, I stuck with it. I always remained professional. I came and did my job whether they liked it or not. Hopefully they recognize that.’’
In 27 starts this season for the Thunder, Anthony is currently averaging 18 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 33.4 minutes.
