Oklahoma City Thunder star guard Russell Westbrook has become one of the league's biggest stars over last few seasons, which parlayed him into some huge endorsement deal and opportunities off the court.
According to Tim Daniels of Bleacher Report, Westbrook is lined up for a signature shoe with Nike at some point next year while Milwaukee Bucks All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is in line to receive the same opportunity.
Nike CEO Mark Parker announced Thursday the company is planning to release a signature shoe for Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook in 2018 and will also increase its promotion of Milwaukee Bucks emerging sensation Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Brandon Richard of Sole Collector passed along comments Parker made during an earnings call about how Nike and its Jordan Brand plan to promote two of basketball's biggest names.
“And Jordan Brand will launch its first signature shoe with reigning MVP Russell Westbrook,” he said. “We're also thrilled to expand our relationship with Giannis Antetokounmpo as we bring his unique personality to life through new signature product and storytelling next year.”

Westbrook is only a few months removed from inking a new 10-year extension with Jordan Brand, which will make him the longest-tenured endorsed player with the company. It was a matter of time before the reigning league MVP was going to receive his first signature shoe.
Meanwhile, Antetokounmpo had inked a long-term deal with Nike last month that should lead to many opportunities for him to get his only personalized merchandise, which will include his own shoe. All of this has been accredited to his continued rise in his play over the last couple of years that have earned him recognition as one of the best players in the league.
It could be the start of a promising stretch of years for both players with plenty of their own unique merchandise coming in the near future.
