Miesha Slayton is Kawhi Leonard's sister, and she took to Instagram Live to celebrate after Leonard led the Toronto Raptors past the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, resulting in the Raptors' first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history.
In the background of Slayton's Instagram Live session, a voice could be heard saying, “They know darn well he ain't gonna be there next year.” This set off speculation that another member of Leonard's family said this, with his infamous uncle being the prime suspect.
Slayton deleted the video and has since shut down that speculation, stating that her uncle wasn't even with her in California and that the background voice belonged to a “Raptors hater” she was watching the game with:
Hey, for anyone worried about the clip with Kawhi's sister, this is her regarding that: pic.twitter.com/CjeuEq7bVE

While we should take Slayton's word on this, that's not going to stop the rumors as the offseason approaches. Many believe Leonard is going to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers this summer. Perhaps this deep playoff run and a potential championship will indeed give Leonard all the reasons he needs to stick around in Toronto, but anything can happen once free agency opens.
For now, Leonard and the Raptors aren't worried about this. They're only focused on the Golden State Warriors as Game 1 of the NBA Finals approaches. Leonard has been a dominant force all postseason, and he's going to give the two-time defending champions all he has got.
Kawhi Leonard is averaging 31.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 38.7 minutes per game in the playoffs. He's shooting 50.7% from the field and 38.8% on 3-pointers. Even if he's still thinking about leaving, it certainly doesn't show on the court.
