Norman Powell is coming off of a 2018-19 NBA campaign in which he helped the Toronto Raptors win their first championship, but that doesn't mean he rested on his laurels this summer.
Powell spent part of his offseason attending Kobe Bryant's basketball camp, and the wing says he loved the experience:
“It was definitely a great experience – to be a part of that, to be around Kobe, be able to talk to him, ask questions and pick his brain a little bit,” said Powell, according to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.
Fellow Raptor OG Anunoby also attended the camp.
Powell played in 60 games this past season, averaging 8.6 points and 2.3 rebounds over 18.8 minutes per game while shooting 48.3 percent from the floor, 40 percent from three-point range and 82.7 percent from the free-throw line in a bench role.

He appeared in 49 contests during his rookie year, registering 5.6 points and 2.3 boards across 14.8 minutes a night while making 42.4 percent of his field-goal attempts, 40.4 percent of his long-distance tries and 81.1 percent of his foul shots.
Powell, who signed a four-year contract extension with the Raptors in October 2017, owns career averages of 7.1 points and 2.1 rebounds through 16.8 minutes per game.
While Toronto is coming off of an NBA title, it lost a whole lot of its shine this summer, as Kawhi Leonard departed via free agency, dropping the Raptors from contender status.
