Toronto Raptors general manager Bobby Webster says the organization has a plan to re-sign All-Star small forward Kawhi Leonard if he declines his 2019-20 player option with the club.

As everyone knows, Kawhi Leonard only played in nine games with the San Antonio Spurs last season due to a lingering quadriceps injury. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year wasn't pleased with how the Spurs handled his injury and forced his way out of San Antonio by requesting a trade.

Webster says the biggest key with Leonard and keeping him in Toronto long term is managing his health the right way.

Many were wondering how Leonard would look this season given what transpired last year, and The Klaw is proving that he is still one of the best players in the NBA.

Entering Wednesday, Leonard is averaging 26.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc and 85.9 percent from the free-throw line. The 27-year-old has guided the Raptors to the best record in the NBA at 23-9.

Some believe Leonard already has a foot out the door in Toronto and will head to Los Angeles in free agency. Only time will tell what Leonard is going to do, but it appears the Raptors have a plan in place to keep him in Canada.
