The Toronto Raptors have won their first NBA title in franchise history, defeating the Golden State Warriors in six games. As a result, fans in Toronto are set to be treated with a championship parade.
According to a report from Blake Murphy of The Athletic, the city of Toronto will celebrate the Raptors with a parade on Monday, June 17. From Princes' Gates, the parade will make its way east on Lakeshore Boulevard before culminating in a celebratory rally at Nathan Phillips Square.

The Raptors claimed the 2018-19 NBA title as a result of a 114-110 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The Warriors were going for an illusive three-peat, but the Raptors, who signed Kawhi Leonard before the start of the season, had other plans. Now, after 24 years, fans in Toronto can celebrate their beloved basketball team.

In fact, their appearance in this season's Finals was their first in franchise history. With Leonard's outstanding play, however, the team has reached the top of the mountain.
“I wanted to make history here. That's what I did,” Leonard told ESPN after Game 6.
According to a report from NBA Canada, Mayor John Tory is urging employers to let people take a few hours on Monday to celebrate Toronto's victory. Several outlets will be broadcasting the event, including CP24 and Sportsnet.
