Utah Jazz rookie guard Donovan Mitchell is one of the most exciting and underrated players in the NBA this year. A certain play he had during the third quarter of the Jazz's game against the Miami Heat on Sunday afternoon just proves that notion even more.

With Utah leading 62-59 midway through the third quarter at American Airlines Arena, veteran forward Thabo Sefolosha tracked down a defensive rebound and promptly threw a gorgeous alley-oop pass to Mitchell, who soared through the air to throw down a nasty one-handed dunk.

A video of the impressive play, which was posted by the official Twitter account of the Jazz, can be viewed below:

Unfortunately for the Jazz, they were unable to hold a late lead as Heat guard Josh Richardson's layup with 5.1 seconds left ended up as the game-winner to rally Miami from an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

Donovan Mitchell, who led all scorers with 27 points on 12-of-25 shots from the field, missed a jumper at the buzzer and the Heat were able to steal a 103-102 victory over the Jazz in Miami.

Following the heartbreaking loss, Mitchell discussed the final Jazz possession in a video posted to Twitter by Kyle Goon of the Salt Lake Tribune.

“They double-teamed me, which means Hoodie (Rodney Hood) was open and I should've made the right read instead of shooting that,” Hood said.

Utah has now lost three straight games and three of its last 16 contests dating back to Dec. 5. On Wednesday night, the team will continue their four-game road trip when they take on the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena.
