The similarities between Los Angeles Lakers forward Brandon Ingram and Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant are not difficult to see. Even Durant himself has widely acknowledged the likeness between the two during Ingram's rookie year.

Ever since then, he has had nothing but the utmost praise for the former No. 2 overall pick and the way he's matured so early in in his career. Needless to say, Kevin Durant got to witness Brandon Ingram's development first-hand during the third quarter of their matchup on Wednesday night.

Ingram managed to drive right up and over both Durant and rookie forward Jordan Bell for the strong finish to put the Lakers ahead. That play is indicative of the kind of progress the Warriors superstar had come to expect from Ingram.

It was quite entertaining to see these two basketball anomalies battle it out all night. Brandon Ingram made quite the impression after recording a career-high 32 points on an efficient 12-of 21 shooting against the defending champs. However, Kevin Durant managed to recover in the fourth quarter and finished with 29 points, seven rebounds, and five assists on the night.

Although Ingram may have won the battle, Durant won the war after leading the Warriors with a stellar performance down the final stretch of the game. The Lakers ultimately lost a winnable game, but fans can take solace in the fact that Brandon Ingram is starting to look every part of the franchise player Los Angeles envisioned him to be.
