Derrick Rose finds himself on the outside looking, being out of a job the moment since he got waived by the Utah Jazz after acquiring him before the trade deadline. It has provided him much time to work on his craft as he prepares to potentially latch onto another team.

There has been much talk about his future the rest of this season. The Minnesota Timberwolves, led by his former head coach Tom Thibodeau, were believed to be interested in adding him to the mix until reports shot down that possibility. That said, Rose was spotted putting in work on the court at Cleveland State University on Thursday morning.

It has been a difficult 2017-18 season for Rose that has seen him fall further from grace from his once-promising career where he became the youngest MVP award winner in league history. The multitude of surgeries along with wear and tear to his body in working back from those ailments have prevented from playing what should be some of the best basketball of his career at age 29.

Instead, he has found himself working out in an empty collegiate gym trying to stay in shape in order to be in the best position to get another chance to continue his NBA career. However, there are more question marks than answers about what Rose can bring to the table at this point in time after his brief tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers wound up being more of a failure than a success.

The only thing that he can do is continue to stay in shape to keep the possibilities open that he can join the mix with another team. This could wind up being the Timberwolves in wake of Jimmy Butler's injury on Friday night that is feared to possibly be an ACL tear that would end his season. If anything, this shows that Rose still possesses a strong passion for the game despite all that he has been through.
