New Orleans Pelicans star center DeMarcus Cousins enjoyed a historic night in the team's clutch 132-128 win over the Chicago Bulls. Cousins achieved something that had not been done in 46 years after recording 44 points, 24 rebounds, and 10 assists. Fans and players throughout the league were mesmerized by the stat line Cousins produced. However, Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green jokingly downplayed the spectacular performance, according to Melissa Rohlin of The Mercury News.
“It’s okay,” Green joked at Warriors practice Tuesday. “It’s not a no-point triple-double or anything.”
Green made history as well last season against the Memphis Grizzlies after becoming the first player to record a triple-double with fewer than 10 points. However, he followed up on a serious note by complimenting Cousins on his game.
“That was crazy, man,” Green said. “Amazing, amazing game.”
A lot has been said about the alleged “beef” between Green and Cousins. Especially after how the two quarreled during their matchup back in early December.

However, it is well-known that they have been good friends ever since they teamed up for the Olympics a few years ago. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year acknowledges that he still has a friendly rivalry with the four-time All-Star.
“We always had a love-hate relationship playing against each other,” Green said. “We're cool when we see each other. And on the court, it’s just madness. And then at the Olympics, we got really close, really close.”
Both Warriors and Pelicans stars are regarded as two of the most physical players in the NBA. Not only that, they are pegged as some of the biggest trash-talkers as well. That said, them clashing heads from time to time is somewhat of an inevitability.
However, it is clear that there is still a tremendous amount of respect between these two premier big men. Their chemistry could potentially carry over into the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
