The Golden State Warriors made everyone flip the table in unison after they acquired DeMarcus Cousins on a one-year $5 million deal. Steve Kerr realizes the magnitude of the All-Star center's addition that is amplified by the fact that the defending champions got him for the mid-level exception.

However, in speaking to Ethan Strauss of The Athletic, the multi-titled bench tactician tried to downplay the move.

It was just such a fluke that he slipped through the cracks. So it was not part of a plan. It just sort of it happened, but when stuff like that happens you gotta be ready and you gotta pounce and that’s what Bob did.

What's no fluke, though, is the Warriors' three championships in four years with the lone championship-less season still being a historical one. Golden State knows how to win and they'll be indoctrinating Cousins to their ways.  Once this happens and Boogie completely buys in, everything that happens from then on won't be considered a fluke. Because if not, then the rest of the NBA are living in a cruel world.

They can't blame the Warriors. Everyone had their shot at the big man. Golden State just did its job — something that the rest of the competition can't say for themselves.

Cousins is as volatile as they get. But after having this much success with personalities such as Draymond Green and Kevin Durant in tow, we can safely say that Kerr has passed the acid test.
