JaVale McGee is coming off of his second straight championship with the Warriors. He has been an excellent fit for Golden State and has provided energy and athleticism, mostly off the bench. But McGee's days with Golden State may be numbered.
According to David Aldridge of TNT, the New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Los Angeles Lakers are in the mix for signing McGee, along with the Warriors as well. All three teams would benefit from having McGee available as a big man to come off the bench. The two-time NBA champion is on the wrong side of 30, but despite playing limited minutes, he can fill a role for a contending team.
McGee played a key role in the Warriors' four-game sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. He shot a total of 16-for-20 in the series and notched double figures in Game Two and Game Three. During the 2018 playoffs, McGee shot an astounding 67 percent from the field. While this is an excellent shooting percentage, it was a drop from the 2017 playoffs when he shot 73 percent from the floor.

His length was also a factor in the Finals as he picked up a block in each game. The seven-footer didn't see many crunch time minutes due to the fact that he has trouble guarding in space, but he's still a rim protector whenever he's on the court.
There's no doubt that McGee is well past his prime, but it's clear that these contending teams would love to have him coming off the bench. Whether it's the Warriors, Lakers, or Pelicans, McGee should have a home on a playoff-caliber team next season.
