Legendary Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson gave a shoutout to Washington Wizards point guard Russell Westbrook on Tuesday while also giving himself a little pat on the back.

Johnson tweeted his congratulations to the “Brodie” after Westbrook became just the third player in NBA history–joining Magic and Oscar Robertson–to record a triple-double with at least 30 points, 20 assists, and 10 rebounds in a win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

Westbrook was utterly dominant in leading a Wizards team without Bradley Beal over Indiana.

The former league MVP poured in 35 points to go with 21 assists and 14 rebounds. He shot 14-for-26 from the field and 4-for-6 from beyond the arc while committing just four turnovers in what was one of his more efficient performances of the season. That efficiency has really waxed and waned since the All-Star break.

Westbrook was dominant in his first seven games out of the break, a stretch that included four triple-doubles and generally better shooting both from the perimeter and free-throw line.

However, the 32-year-old had a couple of brutal clunkers in a pair of games against the New York Knicks last week, shooting a combined 6-for-29 from the field with 12 turnovers.

But poor performances have never stopped Westbrook from staying on the offensive. He had a triple-double in Saturday's win over the Detroit Pistons before putting together one of the best individual showings of the season on Monday.

It was a reminder of Westbrook's sheer dynamism. He might not be in the same class as Magic, but he nonetheless will go down as one of the greatest point guards ever.
