The overwhelming support for free-agent forward Carmelo Anthony has been well-documented. A lot of people, including NBA players past and present, have been saying that he should be in the league right now.

This time, it's Washington Wizards guard Isaiah Thomas' turn to show his love for Melo.

Anthony hasn't played in the NBA since November of last year, and despite his talents, teams are hesitant to sign him because the consensus around the league is that he doesn't want to accept a limited role.

However, when Anthony made a recent appearance on ESPN's First Take, he said that he's a changed man and that he will accept whatever role is given to him if signed by an NBA team. So far, that hasn't helped his case.

Even Team USA, which he helped win multiple gold medals in the Olympics, didn't want to include him in the squad that will compete in the FIBA World Cup in China at month's end. That speaks volumes as to how Melo's reputation has hurt his career.

Although it's true that you can't find 100 players in the NBA who are more more gifted than Anthony even at this point of his career, his talent isn't the problem – it's his attitude. And it seems that no matter how hard he tries to tell people that he's been humbled, it may be too late for him to fix the damage that his ego has created.

Each and every one of us wants to see Melo end his career on a good note. Hopefully, he ends up getting signed before the season starts.
