Washington Wizards point guard Isaiah Thomas has struggled to find an offensive rhythm in the early part of the season. As a result, one NBA fan decided to drop him from their fantasy team.
The fan mentioned Thomas in a bit of a backhanded tweet, saying: “I dropped you. You got injured and I lost you. You outta pocket, bro. Come back soon, though.”
Thomas, who is expected to miss another week due to a strained left calf, saw this fan's message and decided to reply:
Please don’t pick me back up either once i come back killing. Keep losing my friend lol https://t.co/FGWitJL2FV

Thomas has made 17 appearances with the Wizards this season, racking up averages of 12.6 points on 44.6 percent shooting from the field (41.0 percent from beyond the arc), 5.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 24.9 minutes per outing.
Ish Smith has been playing well in Thomas' absence, averaging 16.0 points, 6.7 dimes, 2.7 rebounds. Smith will likely continue to see extended playing time until Thomas is well enough to return.
Whether or not Thomas will “come back killing,” as he says in his tweet, remains to be seen. He was playing well prior to the injury, but the Wizards will surely take a cautious approach to his return.
The Wizards have lost five of their last six games, including Sunday's 135-119 setback against the Clippers. Washington's next shot at claiming a victory comes on Tuesday night, when they'll travel to Charlotte for a matchup against the Hornets. Tip-off inside the Spectrum Center is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
