When it comes to the 2017-18 Washington Wizards (21-16) compared to seasons in the past, head coach Scott Brooks has really instilled a three-point shooting mentality that has really flourished.

According to an article published earlier today by Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington, the Wizards are actually setting franchise records this season with their shooting from behind the arc.

“The Wizards made 16 threes against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. It was the 10th time in Wizards/Bullets franchise history that they have hit 16 threes in a game, but the fourth time this season and the third time in a span of just eight days,” Hughes wrote.

In their last two games alone, the Wizards attempted a whopping 72 three-pointers. Washington made 18-of-36 attempts from downtown in their 121-103 beatdown of the Houston Rockets on Friday night, while they made 16-of-36 treys during their come-from-behind win over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday afternoon.

Hughes also went on to say that the Wizards have embraced Brooks' offensive philosophy with three-point shooting, noting the huge spike in shot attempts from behind the arc.

“The Wizards have attempted 30 threes or more 55 times in franchise history, but 30 of those games have happened since Brooks took over before last season. There has been a clear shift in offensive philosophy with him in charge,” Hughes wrote.

As of Tuesday, Washington is currently tied with the Miami Heat for 11th in the NBA in three-point field goal percentage at 36.8 percent. Coach Brooks' hot-shooting squad will look for its fifth win in six games on Wednesday night when they host the New York Knicks (18-18) at Capital One Arena.
