Oregon Ducks star Kayvon Thibodeaux has been one of the best defensive players in the nation this season. Thibodeaux has his Ducks on the precipice of securing a bowl game against Oklahoma but has made an emotional decision on his future ahead of the big contest. Thibodeaux announced his intentions on Instagram, with NFL reporter Adam Schefter also reporting the news.

Oregon fans will be sad to see Kayvon Thibodeaux go, especially with a bowl game victory within their sights. Not only that, but Thibodeaux made the emotional decision to forego his senior season at Oregon to enter the NFL Draft, where he could be the number-one pick. It was cool to see Thibodeaux thank the fans at Oregon for embracing him, a nice touch by the talented defender.

As Schefter reported, Thibodeaux's decision may have been affected by his head coach Mario Cristobal's decision to leave the program for a coaching opportunity at Miami. Either way, Thibodeaux, the Pac-12 defensive freshman of the year in 2019 and a first-team All-Pac-12 election last year, is setting his sights high with his intention to enter the NFL draft.

The talented pass rusher racked up 35.5 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, and three forced fumbles in three seasons at Oregon, though he missed time due to injury at the beginning of the year, something that will definitely factor into an NFL GM's thinking this spring.

As Oregon fans know, one lucky NFL team will benefit from having Kayvon Thibodeaux on their team following the 2022 draft.
