It's been a bit of a chaotic last week for bot the Ole Miss and LSU football programs. The chaos stems from very different reasons for Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron's squads.

Ole Miss is coming off a crazy win at Tennessee that included a long stoppage late in the 4th quarter as Volunteers fans were throwing stuff onto the field at Lane Kiffin and the Rebels' sideline.

LSU dropped a bombshell, although an expected one, when they announced they will be letting head coach Ed Orgeron go at the end of the year. Now, Ole Miss and the Tigers will matchup this Saturday. Per the Clarion Ledger, Kiffin responded to the pressure all coaches face in today's game, including Orgeron.

“It's the profession we've always been in but now more than ever it's so much not just what have you done in the last year but literally what have you done Saturday,” Kiffin said. “I just had this conversation with another head coach who's struggling a little bit and trying to motivate him. I just said, ‘Hey, every Sunday you're either a good or bad coach based off of that Saturday. It switches.' When I see a thing on SEC Network that I walk by where someone's talking bad about (Nick) Saban after the A&M game as a coach, it just shows you where we're at.”

It's a harsh reality but one that Kiffin is well aware of with all the consistent pressure for coaches to produce wins. LSU just won the national title in 2019 and now Orgeron is gone. Although there were other factors that played into it, if the Tigers had just kept on winning, those other topics would've been swept under the rug. With all the successes Kiffin is having at Ole Miss this year, he's currently riding the wave on a high note.

Ole Miss – LSU should be a whale of a game on Saturday.
