What was supposed to be an instant classic match instead ended in a sour note. Ole Miss vs Tennessee was shaping up to be a good one, as two of the top college football teams duked it out. Instead, some salty fans had to ruin the moment by injecting themselves into the game.
How'd they do that? By throwing trash at the players and coaches, of course. Tennessee fans, presumably frustrated that the home team was lost, took their anger out on the visiting Rebels. They did that by throwing trash on the Ole Miss side of the field. (via Barstool Sports)

It got so bad that Ole Miss had to vacate the sideline to avoid getting hurt.

One enraged fan (who we can only assume is losing a bet on this Ole Miss vs. Tennessee game) threw a golf ball at Rebels coach Lane Kiffin. As many of you may know, a golf ball is kind of heavy. It definitely hurts to get hit with a golf ball. Luckily, Kiffin (who got booed earlier by the same crowd) seemed to be okay, as the throw merely hit his right elbow. (via Sports Illustrated)

Kiffin's bout with the trash rain didn't end with golf balls, unfortunately. Even as the Ole Miss coach was exiting the field, a fan threw an empty water bottle at him. Kiffin, cool as a cucumber, caught the errant bottle casually. And as an added bonus, he threw back his visor to the crowd. Guess we know who truly won the Ole Miss-Tennessee game, huh. (via ESPN)

Jokes aside, it's unfortunate that such an intense and classic rivalry ended in a sour note. Ole Miss-Tennessee is always must-watch college football, but it has been ruined by the fans. Hopefully, this is only an isolated incident, and Tennessee fans will act better next time around.
Here's this biggest question though: Who in their right mind goes into the Ole Miss vs Tennessee game… and brings a whole bottle of mustard???
