It's a battle of OSU vs. OSU Sunday when Oregon State looks to keep its surprising run going against Cade Cunningham and Oklahoma State. It's time to continue our NCAA odds series and make an Oregon State-Oklahoma State prediction and pick.

Oregon State received an automatic bid after running through the Pac-12 Tournament. Needing to win the tournament as their only hope of punching a ticket to the NCAA Tournament, the Beavers did just that, beating UCLA, Oregon and Colorado in three consecutive days to earn the auto bid and a 12-seed. Oregon State then upset the fifth-seeded Tennessee Volunteers in the first round.

Oklahoma State earned an at-large spot after an impressive regular season that featured 10 Quad 1 victories, second in the country behind only Illinois. Led by freshman sensation Cade Cunningham, the Cowboys have an uptempo offense that can pour in buckets in a hurry with multiple contributors. The first-round victory over Liberty wasn't the prettiest, but Oklahoma State got the job done.

Here's how the sportsbooks have set the opening Oregon State-Oklahoma State odds.

NCAA Odds: Oregon State-Oklahoma State odds

Oregon State +6 (-116)

Oklahoma State -6 (-104)

Over 140 points (-110)

Under 140 points (-110)

Why Oregon State could cover the spread

There aren't many teams riding the wave of momentum heavier than Oregon State is entering the Round of 32. Wayne Tinkle's team looked all but done entering the Pac-12 Tournament before they went on an unpredictable run that resulted in them being the last team standing in Las Vegas.

Oregon State drew a 12-seed and matchup with Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it was never close. The Beavers led by 14 at halftime and never looked back.

They share the ball well (20 assists on 27 field goals made against the Volunteers) and don't really have a true star on this team, just a plethora of different options that can get it done on the offensive side.

While Oklahoma State is a tough group to handle when they have the ball, they do turn it over at an absurdly high rate. If Oregon State is able to force turnovers against the Cowboys and get it going in transition, they will be right in this game.

Sometimes in March the best thing you can have is an abundance of confidence that washes away what any of the outsiders think. Oregon State has that confidence and elevated it after their dismantling of Tennessee.

Why Oklahoma State could cover the spread

Oklahoma State was a trendy pick when the brackets were released to make a Final Four run. They have an All-American in Cade Cunningham who's widely expected to be the top pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He's one of the best closers in basketball and proved it once again after a slow start against Liberty in the Round of 64, helping the Cowboys close the door on the Flames.

While Cunningham gets all the national attention, the Cowboys have four other scorers outside of him all averaging at least 9.1 points per game. One name to watch not named Cunningham is Isaac Likekele. The 6-foot-5 guard is a matchup problem for most defenses and leads the team in rebounds and assists. He brings a calming and reassuring presence to Oklahoma State's team and makes the crunch times play as well.

the Cowboys' offense is as good as advertised and can flip the switch to get buckets in the snap of a finger. They faced a really good defense in Liberty and made plays when it counted to pull away at the end, even if much of the game was ugly.

This is a team that has beaten: Texas, Texas Tech (2x), West Virginia (2x), Oklahoma (2x) and Baylor. They fear nobody and won't be intimidated by Oregon State.

Final Oregon State-Oklahoma State prediction and pick

I learned my lesson picking against Oklahoma State (-7) against Liberty (they botched a layup to push the spread as time expired). Despite the differences in conference, Oregon State will not bring as daunting of a defense to the table against Oklahoma State as Liberty did.

Liberty controlled the pace and dictated the tempo against the Cowboys. Oregon State isn't going to be able to do the same because it's not something they've done much of this year against the opposition.

If Oklahoma State limits turnovers (Oregon State is 237th in the nation in forcing turnovers at 12.3 per game), the run for Oregon State will come to an end on Sunday.

Cade Cunningham had two points at halftime against Liberty, and it's a safe bet that won't be the case this time around. Oklahoma State struggled mightily against Liberty and still covered the seven-point spread.

FINAL PICK: OKLAHOMA STATE -6
