The Brooklyn Nets are on the search for a new coach next season. They could make the biggest splash by pursuing arguably one of the most legendary mentors of all time: San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, per Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times.

Brooklyn fired Kenny Atkinson in early March, suggesting differences with the two stars Durant and Irving. Currently, Jacque Vaughn is manning the sidelines for the severely depleted Nets in the bubble.

The Nets also expected to add a third star to form a Big Three with Irving and Durant. They have a great cast of promising players such as Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, and Spencer Dinwiddie, and a steady dose of draft picks which they can use to bring in another big name.

Among the stars they are rumored to pursue include Chicago Bulls high-flyer Zach LaVine and Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal. If the Nets manage to land one of those two and bring aboard Gregg Popovich on the sidelines, then the Eastern Conference better watch out for this brewing powerhouse in Brooklyn.
