The Brooklyn Nets' lack of depth recently may change the course of their franchise in a massive way. James Harden, the team's only star that is fully available, is reportedly seeking a new home. Kyrie Irving's refusal to comply with New York City's COVID-19 vaccination requirements has rendered him to be a part-time player, derailing the team's ambitions. Kevin Durant's knee injury leaves Harden as the only star to carry the load during home games.

The increasing disappointment in the team from Harden is exacerbated by the absence of Joe Harris. The Nets' sharpshooter could provide much-needed offensive support. Unfortunately, he has been sidelined with an ankle injury that required surgery in November.

Harris is not any close to seeing the court for Brooklyn. According to Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes, Harris sought a second opinion on his ankle after suffering a setback in his recovery.

In 14 games this season, Harris is averaging 11.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 46.6 percent from 3-point land. He has twice led the league in 3-point percentage, providing nearly unparalleled floor spacing for a role player. He has shown the ability to score on his own in spurts, too, which would greatly be useful for the Nets at a time like this.

Harden has needed to put on superhuman-like performances with so many of Brookyln's key players sidelined. It has clearly taken a toll on him, as in just his second season with the Nets he is already looking for avenues to leave.
