With the Brooklyn Nets introduction of free agent signings and All-Stars Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and DeAndre Jordan on Tuesday, the question of who will start at center has developed in the forefront of every starting lineup question.

The team had slotted rising big man Jarrett Allen in the middle, but the addition of Jordan, who joined his USA Basketball friends Irving and Durant in Brooklyn, signing a reported four-year $40 million. Jordan won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro with Durant and Irving by his side.

Allen, an emerging center for the Nets and former first-round pick for the franchise. He's been a nice find by the team in recent, playoff-barren years and the expectation is he'd have to move to a bench role after the acquisition of the veteran center Jordan.

However, that might not happen according to Brooklyn's head coach Kenny Atkinson. Per Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Atkinson spoke to the two-time All-Defensive team member Jordan, who in turn told his coach he'll “do whatever is needed” for the Nets to win.

Allen has averaged 9.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks in 23.3 minutes per game in his two-year NBA tenure, appearing in 152 contests and starting in 111 of them. He's shot 59% from the floor, 18.3% from deep, and 73.2% from the free throw line.

Jordan last played for the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks during the 2018-19 season following a trade that sent him and more to the Big Apple for former ‘Bocker Kristaps Porzingis.

He was a major factor for Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers during the “Lob City” days alongside Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.
