The Brooklyn Nets are cruising on a 7-3 stretch that has helped earn them the Eastern Conference's best record. Critical to the team's success this season has been superstar forward Kevin Durant, whose play has been nothing short of spectacular. Durant has missed some time while in the league's health and safety protocols, though he still has quite the case for the league's MVP. In a recent interview with ESPN NBA reporter Malika Andrews, James Harden was asked if teammate Durant was the NBA MVP. Harden replied with a two-word response.
Well, that settles that, then. Nets star James Harden “for sure” thinks that Kevin Durant is the NBA MVP. And why wouldn't he?
Durant leads the NBA with 29.7 points per game to go along with superb averages of 7.9 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. The Nets star is shooting 52.3 percent from the field. Durant is, as Harden said, “overly polished” at this point in his career.
Harden would know, too, having spent three seasons with Durant while in Oklahoma City, before the two reunited with the Nets. Not only that, but Harden knows an MVP-level performance when he sees it, having taken home the hardware once before in his career.
Kevin Durant has quite the case for the NBA's MVP award. However, if you ask his Nets teammate James Harden, Durant has more than just a case.
According to James Harden, Kevin Durant is “for sure” the NBA MVP.
