The Brooklyn Nets were dealt a significant blow on Tuesday following news that James Harden remains out indefinitely due to his hamstring injury. The good news here, however, is that, unlike Harden, Kevin Durant appears to be nearing a return to action.

Nets head coach Steve Nash provided an update on Durant's status moving forward, and it looks like KD should be coming back soon:

This is a great development for both the Nets and Durant, who himself was forced to exit Sunday's game against the Miami Heat due to a thigh injury. KD appears to have avoided another significant injury here, and he is expected to return to action soon.

The Nets are in action on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans and Durant was ruled out of the contest a couple of days prior. It is the first night of a back-to-back set, so it would not be surprising if KD takes the floor on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors.

Then again, this is the Nets we're talking about here. It's not as if they urgently need Durant back at this point in the season, so it's also a possibility that the team holds him out for a couple more games.

As for Harden, the former league MVP reportedly suffered a setback in his road to recovery. An MRI was done on his hamstring and the results were not what the Nets were expecting. The 31-year-old will need more time to nurse the injury and there have been whispers that Harden could be shut down for the remainder of the regular season.
