Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has been a thorn in the New York Knicks' side for the past few seasons.

He toyed with Knicks fans' emotions when there was buzz about him going to New York. The fact that he did, but eventually ended up in Brooklyn made it sting a little extra as he spurned the Knicks for their crosstown rivals.

Kevin Durant most recently tormented the Knicks on the court, as he poured on 53 points against them in their previous showdown in Brooklyn.

But now it seems the Nets star is taking it to a whole new level. Kevin Durant is on a grassroots campaign to convince young Knicks fans to change their minds. Check out KD hilariously urging two young fans to switch allegiances:

In the grand scheme of things, Kevin Durant may be doing these kids and all other future converts a favor.

The Knicks have given their fans little to cheer about over the past two decades and perhaps ending their fandom early saves them from a lifetime of future headaches and heartbreaks. The Brooklyn Nets star is simply trying to stop the madness from the source.
