Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving is featured on a new billboard on the corner of Madison Square Garden, according to a report from TickPick.

The billboard from Nike features Irving gripping a basketball with a focused look on his face, as well as a message that reflects his decision to join his hometown team:

“In my heart, I always knew I wanted to play at home.”

Irving, now 27 years of age, joined the Nets back in July, agreeing to the terms of a four-year, $141 million deal. He wasn't the only superstar to join Brooklyn's ranks this offseason, though, as Kevin Durant made the same decision. Durant, however, is expected to miss all of this season as he recovers from an Achilles injury.

So far, Irving has played well for his new team. He's made seven appearances, racking up averages of 31.7 points on 47.2 percent shooting from the field (38.3 percent from beyond the arc), 7.7 assists, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 33.9 minutes per outing.

Kyrie and the Nets managed to hold off Brandon Ingram and the Pelicans on Monday night, securing a 135-125 victory. Irving logged 35 minutes, scoring a team-high 39 points on 13-of-21 shooting (2-of-6 from downtown), nine assists, four rebounds and three steals.

“We obviously wanted to come out and win this game and really put a statement down for the rest of the week before we go on this long trip, so it was good,” Irving told ESPN after Monday night's game.

With the win, the Nets moved to 3-4 on the season. Their next shot at claiming a victory comes on Friday night, when they'll face off against the Portland Trail Blazers. Tip-off inside the Moda Center is set for 10:00 p.m ET.
