Despite his apparent inability to secure a new deal with any NBA team, it appears there remains to be a significant number of players who want 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony to join their team. To be more specific, several Brooklyn Nets players are still in favor of the team bringing in Anthony, per SNY's Ian Begley.

It was previously reported that new Nets stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have been lobbying the front office to make the move. Taurean Prince also recently subtly hinted at a desire to see Melo in Brooklyn.

It is worth noting that Brooklyn will have a lack of depth at the 4-spot entering the new season, with Wilson Chandler facing a lengthy suspension and Rodions Kurucs also in the midst of a legal battle pertaining to the assault charges recently filed against him by his ex-girlfriend. And, of course, Durant is hurting.

However, the Nets currently already have the maximum 15 players on guaranteed contracts. Brooklyn could potentially bring Anthony to camp on a non-guaranteed deal. There's also the option of simply waiting until after the fifth game of Chandler's 25-game suspension, which is when he's eligible to go on the inactive list. Somebody would have to be waived when Chandler comes back if Anthony were to stick around, though.

Anthony's fall from grace over the past two years has been well-documented, and it is no secret that he comes with a significant amount of baggage. Nonetheless, he still might have some gas left in the tank, and he could be a good fit for a potential contender such as the Nets.
