The New England Patriots head south to take on the Houston Texans. This is a big game for New England, as they've fallen 1-3 and need a win to get back into the swing of things. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Patriots Week 5 prediction.

New England's defense showed up in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, limiting Tom Brady and his offense to just 19 points. The Patriots ultimately lost that game, but it proved how talented their defense truly is. Houston is a much lesser opponent and the Patriots' defense should be able to shut them down.

They couldn't get the run game going at all in their previous matchup. However, New England should have an easier time on Sunday. We're likely to see Damien Harris bounce back in a big way.

Jakobi Meyers is undoubtedly the top target on this offense. For that reason, we should see him record his first career touchdown and then some. Additionally, Mac Jones aims to lead his team and earn another victory on the season. With that said, here are four bold Patriots Week 5 predictions against the Texans.

Patriots Week 5 Predictions

4. Patriots defense shuts out the Texans

The Houston Texans are simply a bad team right now. They're not likely to win many games this year, which bodes well for New England's chances. The Patriots' defense is the real deal and they're bound to keep the Texans from scoring throughout most of the game. There is a real chance they shut out Houston altogether, as the Texans lack the firepower to compete.

3. Damien Harris bounces back with 80+ rushing yards and 1 touchdown

After a pathetic performance in Week 4, Damien Harris will look to bounce back. He literally just has to fall forward for one yard and it'll be better than what he did against the Buccaneers. Luckily for him, the Texans have struggled at slowing down the run. For that reason, Harris should have a decent day and serve as the Patriots' top running back on the roster.

2. Jakobi Meyers finds the end zone twice

With the number of times he's targeted, it's insane that Jakobi Meyers has yet to record a touchdown. He led the Patriots in receptions and receiving yards in their last game, meaning he is clearly Mac Jones' favorite pass option. Meyers is bound to score soon (or at least we hope so).

Due to his lack of touchdowns, when Jakobi Meyers finally scores, he's going to make a splash. The Texans have a terrible secondary and will likely be torched through the air in this game. For that reason, Meyers should be able to find the end zone not once, but twice on Sunday.

1. Mac Jones lights it up for 250+ yards and 3 touchdowns

Mac Jones has had a decent rookie campaign. It's nothing spectacular, but it's exactly what New England wants out of their young quarterback. Jones is facing a struggling Texans team and all signs are pointing towards him having a big game. With an above-average receiving core and two solid tight ends, Jones has the tools around him to dominate Houston.
