The 2022 NFL Draft will go down as one of the most unique in the league's history. The lack of drafted quarterbacks is astounding and has left several talented players like Liberty University's Malik Willis waiting.
Only one quarterback was drafted in the first round. Kenny Pickett went from the University of Pittsburgh to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 20th overall pick. That is the latest in a draft that the first QB has been taken since 1997, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Willis, who was at the scene of the NFL Draft and watched in from the green room, believed that he should have been the first quarterback drafted. When he wasn't, he jokingly tweeted and asked what happened to him as if he was just a football fan.
Omg what happened to malik πππ

After the joke, Willis shared a serious message. he said that he is very thankful to get the chance to go to Las Vegas and that not being picked in the first round is something he will use to grow.
Still super appreciative and thankful for this opportunity to be in Vegas and is a prime example on adversity and continuing to grow in your faith TGFE ππΎ

Willis has a very impressive arm and dual-threat potential that could make him a very good player at the next level. Although he may have to ride the bench before he gets extensive playing time, he could be a very good player at the next level.
The NFL Draft has only seen one quarterback taken in the first round twice in the past two decades. Pickett will have the honor of being that lone QB but the best one that this draft class has to offer could go by the name of Malik Willis when it's all said and done.
