According to recent reports, former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores is suing the NFL, the New York Giants, and other teams.

Flores believes that because he, as a black man, is not being treated fairly in the hiring process.

According to Dan Duggan, New York Giants beat reporter for The Athletic NFL, Brian Flores released this statement via his lawyers,

“God has gifted me with a special talent to coach the game of football, but the need for change is bigger than my personal goals. In making the decision to file the class action complaint today, I understand that I may be risking coaching the game that I love and that has done so much for my family and me. My sincere hope is that by standing up against systemic racism in the NFL, others will join me to ensure that positive change is made for generations to come.”

If any of the information that has surfaced is accurate, the NFL will be facing a tough legal battle. The NFL has done a poor job of hiring black coaches to manage football teams, and many black men are becoming increasingly frustrated with the league's antics.

It will be fascinating to see if Brian Flores is able to find another position in the NFL, but as we have seen in the past, when a black man expresses his viewpoint in this league, he is frequently fired quickly.
