Back in April, the Dallas Cowboys decided to part ways with veteran wide receiver Dez Bryant. The team felt it was time to move on and the decision didn't sit well with Bryant as he continues to search for a new team in the NFL as Week 1 gets underway.
During the Week 1 matchup between the Cowboys and Carolina Panthers, Bryant took to Twitter to answer an interesting question. The fan asked Bryant to come back to the team while watching Dallas struggle on offense. Dez clearly has no interest in doing so as he made that point abundantly while also dropping two potential destinations.
The Baltimore Ravens were the first team to offer Bryant a contract not long after he was released by the Cowboys. Baltimore offered a three-year deal to the veteran, but he declined the offer. The Cleveland Browns were the next team to show interest, and it seemed like it was inevitable he'd sign with the struggling franchise. Bryant visited the team and many believed putting pen to paper would only be a matter of time.
However, Josh Gordon returned to the team and then talk of Bryant signing seemed to dwindle. Now Bryant remains a free agent with his sights seemingly set on the New England Patriots or Washington Redskins. The two teams have a need at receiver with very capable star quarterbacks in Tom Brady and Alex Smith.
This isn't the first time the Patriots have been mentioned as a potential destination, but it doesn't appear that the team has interest in bringing him in. This is the first time Washington has come up in Bryant's Twitter feed, and it'll be interesting to see if that gets the conversation going after Week 1.
