The NFL has had a second grievance filed against them because of the anthem protests. First, it was former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick. This time, it's Kap's former Niners teammate, Eric Reid. According to Dan Graziano of ESPN:

Source: Former 49ers safety Eric Reid has filed a collusion grievance against the NFL. Reid's attorney is Mark Geragos, who's also represented Colin Kaepernick.

Eric Reid has been very outspoken on the National Anthem protests and he believes that teams are using that against him in not signing him.

Coming into this offseason Eric Reid was near the top of the list for best defensive backs that were free agents. He hasn't garnered a ton of attention though getting only one interview with the Bengals.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Bengals owner Mike Brown told him he is leaning towards prohibiting kneeling and asked Reid his stance on that. Reid caught off guard by the question and wouldn't commit to not kneeling even though he had said earlier this offseason that he didn't plan to kneel next season.

One of the guys who has really come to the defense of Reid was Richard Sherman who talked about it during his introductory press conference with the San Francisco 49ers.

“We are concerned, because he played at a high level for just about every year that he's played in this league,” Sherman said. “He's made enough plays to be signed with a team and to make his money. He deserves his money. … So, there is concern there, because you would think a player of his caliber and his quality would be picked up by now.”
